Man Installs Video Camera in Eye Socket

36-year-old Canadian filmmaker Rob Spence is planning to replace his prosthetic eye with a tiny wireless video camera. The camera won’t connect to his brain and restore his vision, but will allow Spence to record everything he sees. Spence hopes having a video camera in his eye will help build greater awareness about the culture of surveillance in our society.

“Sometimes I run a little experiment,” Spence says. “I tell people around me, ‘Did you know there are 11,000 new video cameras being installed in our country every day?’ Then I will exaggerate and say there are 50,000 new video cameras going in everyday. Most of the times I get the same answer: ‘That’s interesting. Now what’s for lunch?’ or ‘The weather is nice today. I wonder what those people will say when they are staring back into the video camera in my eye?”

Gabriel, thank you for contacting us here at Anti on this matter. It shows great judgment on your behalf to contact a record company rather than the usual ophthalmology experts. Unfortunately, we are currently busy working on a vaccine for the H1N1 flu virus which shows signs of evolving into a worldwide pandemic. It’s not that your brother’s missing eyeball is not important, but we must go where we are needed most in these matters. Until we complete the vaccine and begin working on a cure for blindness, I suggest a golf ball and some duct tape. Regards…

A correction. It has been brought to my attention that your brother lost his sight in a “fatal” accident and is thus dead. Contrary to certain rumors, we here at Anti do not engage in sorcery.
