On April 18 in honor of “Record Store Day” TOM WAITS will release an exclusive limited edition 7” single because he believes in the importance of the independents: The record store is the livery stable where I can tie up, feed and groom my ears.”

As noted in an earlier post, the songs were recorded during last summer’s critically acclaimed “Glitter & Doom” tour–side A features “Lucinda/Ain’t Goin’ Down to the Well” (recorded at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA) and side B contains “Bottom of the World” (recorded at the Edinburgh Playhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland).

I guess this day ain’t in Europe, eh? Would’ve gladly stormed every record store in town just to get my own copy.

I was at the Fox that night. I’d love to hear it again!

I went to all four independent record stores in my city this morning, and nobody had any left in stock. I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed.

Somebody needs to confirm (not ON Twitter) whether that Tom Waits Twitter is his or not. First, I can’t believe he’d deal with it. Second, he’s lost his mind linking up to some of the stuff he’s posting there for his fans if it’s really him… and if it’s not him, it needs to be removed.

that is definitely NOT Tom…at first it was vaguely amusing. now that he’s pedaling sh*t, not so much. you know who’s still funny? the fake Nick Cave http://www.twitter.com/nickcave
