When not searching out strange things to post on this site, I occasionally write for the LA Weekly newspaper here in town. This weekend the paper is having a cool event at the Montalban Theater in Hollywood and it is all free.
The festivities include DJ sets from Black Flag singers Henry Rollins and Keith Morris, dinner from the Kogi Taco Truck, performances by Juliette Lewis and some others.
There is also an amazing writers panel featuring my two talented friends Jerry Stahl (Permanent Midnight, Pain Killers) and Evan Wright (Generation Kill) and some other great authors, moderated by my neurotic morning dog walking partner, renowned journalist Joe Donnelly, as well as a seminar on meat eating (!) by Pulitzer prize winning food critic extraordinaire Jonathan Gold, and much more.
