  • 10 Shaun // May 5, 2008 at 11:54 am

So is there any possibility of additional tour dates after these or is this it? LA, San Diego, Vegas?? Something closer would be quite nice.

  • 22 Brian Smart // May 6, 2008 at 8:04 pm

    In a somewhat related vein…

I live in Whitehorse, in the Yukon Territory (Canada).

So tonight I’m at my daughter’s dance rehearsal for The Northern Lights School of Dance. About 2 hours into the affair I start to nod off. I’m not sure whether it as the tap dancing, a BB King song, or an old Satchmo song, but I had this idea in the mddle of the Yukon Arts Centrefor a play or musical entitled: 10 Songs by Tom Waits.

Maybe already been done. Maybe a shitty idea. I dunno. 10 songs by Tom Waits with accompanying theatrics (they are always accompanied by theatrics so there’s really no stretch for anyone here right?)

  • 23 Gina // May 6, 2008 at 9:19 pm

brian - that has been done, both with (The Black Rider, Alice & Blood Money, all with Robert Wilson) and without (a production somewhere with tom’s songs done showtune style) tom’s blessing and/or involvement. so clearly a good idea!

  • 24 MARTIN // May 7, 2008 at 1:09 am

    ON SALE INFO UP FRIENDS!

  • 31 Tero // May 7, 2008 at 10:56 pm

Good for you guys. It just brakes my heart to think, that there propably will be only a handful of shows in Europe and it’s virtually impossible to get tickets if you do not live in that spesific country.

I’d sell my other kidney to see Tom live someday but because I live in Finland the odds for me growing a second head are better.

  • 32 Lori In NJ // May 8, 2008 at 4:07 am

What about NJ, come on people here can’t wait for him…please include us in your tour area! It would be totally awesome to see an icon her!

  • 33 Lori In NJ // May 8, 2008 at 4:08 am

  • 34 Another Tero // May 8, 2008 at 4:54 am

Tero, as far I can tell, I still only have just one head, although I’ve seen Tom four times over the last nine years and I live in Finland too! Still hoping for a concert in Northern Europe though…

  • 35 Lucifer // May 9, 2008 at 12:04 pm

Australians have been waiting an eternity to see you, Tom!!! Pack your bags, tune the guitars and get down here!

    Please…

  • 39 Boris // May 10, 2008 at 12:31 pm

When comparing the star-constellation Eridanus (witch he will follow in Europe) with a map, knowing it has to be placed between Spain and Dublin - Here’s a possible route: Barcelona, Paris, München, Praha, Berlin/Hamburg, Amsterdam, London, Dublin…

  • 40 Randy Shields // May 10, 2008 at 1:14 pm

When do Tom Waits tickets go on sale for the Orpheum in Phoenix???

  • 41 James // May 11, 2008 at 5:59 pm

You’re doing all these redneck states, and you avoid Florida? Tampa needs some life, hope you pay us a visit.

  • 42 James // May 11, 2008 at 6:01 pm

Sorry, didn’t realize Jacksonville was on the list. You don’t expect civilized people to drive 6 hours to see a show, do you?

  • 43 Tue // May 13, 2008 at 1:36 am

    Pleeaassee visit us in DENMARK…

  • 44 darcy // May 13, 2008 at 10:49 am

    “CANADA

    CANADA loves you tom
    out west pleeeeeease”

    Dear gods yes!!

  • 46 Jorge // May 15, 2008 at 6:31 am

I read your book recently and enyoed it very much. I understand your music a little bit more, I always say that if you read somethig about Cubism you will enjoy more Picasso’s work, isn’t it true? Anyways, its only a point of view.
I had a very good time reading it and I hope you come to Spain to experience your live concert. Thank you for your art, Tom.
    Jorge / George

  • 47 dan // May 16, 2008 at 6:19 am

I just got 8th row Orchestra tickets for the Jacksonville show!

  • 48 dan // May 16, 2008 at 6:31 am

I have been keeping my ticket stubs from shows since I was 16, I plan to make a coffee table with the tickets displayed under the glass. It is unfortunate that I won’t get a hard ticket for this show as it would have been one of the crown jewels but I commend Tom Waits and Ticketmaster for keeping the ticket brokers from buying in bulk and allowing the real fans to get great seats for face value. This tour isn’t selling out nearly as fast for this reason. It’s a half an hour in to the sell and you can still find orchestra seats. With the cardholder’s presence necessary for admission, it seems scalpers are out of gas.

  • 49 tyler // May 17, 2008 at 10:54 am

is tom coming to albany ever????????

  • 50 Trole // May 18, 2008 at 12:45 am

Now, I too am a musician and I understand how difficult it can be to make a tour schedule. Of course we all would like Tom to come to our respective town or area but we must respect his devotion to the precise measurements of this “hydra” constellation. If he were to start in, say, Buckeye, Arizona, it would really throw things off! Then, a stop in Albany and one in New York City and we’re talking about a completely different constellation altogether as well as an acronym that would make no sense at all.
Furthermore, I understand that Mr. Waits personal astrologer is a very large and muscular fellow who spent years behind bars for crimes that resulted from his volatile temper. He could fly off the handle at any minute due to any minor fluctuation or variation in the tour schedule.
Continuing on that note, our band just returned from our Canadian tour which was also mapped out in the pattern of the constellation, “Pisces” as I was born under that sign. We were offered a show in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and our booking team accepted without our knowledge and when we received the tour schedule, it threw off the entire constellation philosophy. We ended up in a violent fight with our drummer who left for home and we were forced to continue the tour without him. You see, there’s a reason and a rhyme to it all. It’s not just nonsense.

For example, here is the acronym for the towns that we played in Canada:

    Skin City, Ontario
    London, Ontario
    Thunder Bay, Ontario
    Winnipeg, Manitoba
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (the blaggard tour date!)
    Regina, Saskatchewan
    Canmore, Alberta
    Cumberland, British Columbia
    Nanaimo, British Columbia
    Victoria, British Columbia
    Vancouver, British Columbia
    Banff, Alberta
    Jasper, Alberta
    Edmonton, Alberta
    Calgary, Alberta
Now, though the acronym “SLTWSRCCNVVBJEC” is difficult to pronounce and doesn’t roll off the tongue as well as “PEHDTSCKJMBA”, but when you complete the acronym and consider what happened (and our drummer actually did leave in Saskatoon. True story), it absolutely boggles the mind.

Saskatoon Loves Terrific Wind Storms Rolling Cloud Cover No Verbal Violence Necessary Because Juxtaposition Enables Comradery.

You see! Saskatoon is in the Canadian praries where the wind blows like mad! If we hadn’t made that stop in Saskatoon there would have been no verbal violence between band members and we would still have our drummer! This is all possible by the fact that “juxtaposition enables comradery! You see! It actually makes a lot of sense. It’s not all just Tom-foolery.

  • 51 Trole // May 18, 2008 at 12:48 am

Furthermore, the constellation “Pisces” which is also the astrological sign I was born under, is the exact pattern of the curl of hair that rests on my forehead! We chose our route strictly due to that constellation pattern until that dreadful date was booked in Saskatoon. Really, it’s quite an amazing story wouldn’t you say?

  • 52 Trole // May 18, 2008 at 12:52 am

Oh, and if you decide to come to Canada, Mr. Waits, you can stay at our house. There’s a spare couch that folds out into a bed and I’ll even make my special blueberry pancakes in the morning with the purest of maple syrup. I’m sure my ma would bake you all some cookies as she does for us every time we leave for tour.

  • 53 HECTOR // May 20, 2008 at 11:44 am

    ARGENTINA Please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 54 HECTOR // May 20, 2008 at 11:46 am

    come to South America ,TOM!!!

  • 55 Odd Einar // May 20, 2008 at 11:49 am

Is it possible he will visit Scandinavia, especially Norway on this tour?
I believe that Norway is the only country that Tom Waits ever reach nr 1 on a national sales list.

  • 56 Jason // May 21, 2008 at 9:50 am

shortest tour ever, it’s like under 2 weeks. come to California!!!

  • 57 Jason // May 24, 2008 at 9:55 am

Looks like its a long weekend in Edinburgh for me, I knew it would end up costing me £500 to see Tom Waits, Ive never paid almost £100 for a ticket to see anyone either. still. nor would I. CANT WAIT…

  • 58 nate chavez // May 24, 2008 at 1:51 pm

Why would you only tour one half of the country? Its not fair to your fans in the northern part of the U.S. particularly the portland area. I dont know why you gotta be so stingy with your talent. spread the love around tom!

  • 59 jason m // May 29, 2008 at 8:46 pm

Canada needs more glitter and doom!

  • 60 Shanester // May 30, 2008 at 7:49 pm

    Aw… C’Mon!

Stupid question. Is this it for USA dates for the next year or two? I’ll do the 10+ hour drive from Denver, (if I have to).

In other words, will there be any more USA dates… or is this it?

    –Shanester.
P.S. Any idea what the setlist will consist of?

  • 61 Shanester // May 30, 2008 at 7:53 pm

I don’t wanna be one of those guys in the audience that ‘cheers’ when he says… “Hey, Tulsa” and I was the guy that drove 10+ hours with $4 gas from Colorado.

    Grrrr…

I wish Tommie (sorry, when anyone in our ‘group’ says Tommie, we know they mean THE Tom Waits) would enjoy touring (instead of just needing the $) and go all over. I’ll drive… but need to know what songs he’ll play, need to take off two days from work and will spend $150-$200 in gas, plus food, motel, etc…

C’mon, Tommie, come on out to Denver.
    Puh-Lease?

  • 62 Shanester // May 30, 2008 at 7:54 pm

    Yeah….

    GOING OUT WEST…

(Like, to … um, Denver, .. PLEASE?!?)

  • 63 Kate // Jun 2, 2008 at 7:28 pm

    Please come to Australia…

  • 64 Karla // Jun 12, 2008 at 8:36 am

    Please come to South Africa…

  • 65 Ada // Jun 17, 2008 at 6:04 am

Why is it so difficult to get tickets to see your show? I understand wanting to play small venues to make the show more intimate but it really puts limits on how many people can see your show and it excludes a lot of your fans. I have been trying to get tickets for your Phoenix show since last week and it has been one of the most difficult experiences. Between the scalpers that want to charge $400 a ticket and Ticketmaster I am not sure which is worse.

  • 66 vincent devoe // Jun 27, 2008 at 7:22 am

Canadian tour anytime soon? Montreal ?

  • 67 Catgut // Aug 15, 2008 at 8:02 pm

    “jason m
Canada needs more glitter and doom!”

C’mon, Jason, we got way more than our share of doom up here.
But, Tom, never mind that just come up here anyhow. Just stay away from anyone official-looking and stick with the reg’lar folks and you’ll enjoy yourself, honest.

  • 68 Brett // Apr 6, 2009 at 2:17 pm

YES! please a Canadian tour! Vancouver would be so nice. Next to having four children, my dad’s greatest accomplishment would be to see TOM WAITS in concert!
    We can only dream right?

  • 69 Tatiana // Jun 3, 2009 at 9:59 pm

Please come to Australia Tom. We’re not that far really. Please reward your devoted fans with a concert or two. Your shows will be sell-out guaranteed.
