Tom Waits Tickets On-Sale on Monday

By Josh · 20 Comments

Good seats are going to be released on Monday, June 9th in each USA city.

I assume this will happen at the start of business, but that could vary at each venue.

There aren’t a lot, but these are really good seats, so if you’ve been shutout, this is a great opportunity.

Enjoy,

Stuart

Why oh why does Tom never play the where I live? Here in the Faeroe Islands we love Tom. I have friends in Patagonia, Borneo and the Kamchatka peninsula who are really pissed that Tom is missing them out. What about some shows for loyal fans in New Caledonia and Burundi as well???

    Dear Sirs,

I am not quite sure if this is the correct adress to send this to, but I trust you will answer me or forward this to the right person.

A week ago my husband and I finally managed to get tickets to one of Mr. waits concerts in Europe. SInce he is not coming to Norway our alternative was Edinburgh. I have been waiting 25 years to see him in concert!

My sister-in-law paid for the tickets with her creditcard, and we booked hotelroom and flights (and kennel lodgings for our dog) the same day.

Then, last Friday we got the sad message that due to the fight against the black marked tickets, the person who paid for the tickets (my sister-in-law) and a guest are the only ones that can attend. We tried to call and to explain the situation by e-mail, but the only thing we know is that is not possible to change the name on the tickets. This means that nobody can use them, and we want event get the ticketcost refunded.

At the same time we see that ticket scalpers earn their money because they will always find a way to get around the system, but we have lost a fair amount of money and we will not be able to see Mr. waits in concert due to some rigid system.

Looking at Mr. Waits official homepage, several people are experiencing this, and I therefore hope that something will be done about this.

I understand your frustration about the black market, but this kind of system only affects his fans.

    Hello
I have 2 tickets to Tom Waits in Columbus OH June 28
It (very very very very very sadly) now looks like I can not go
ticketmaster is unwilling to open up the tickets for re-sale, but said that I could find someone to go and arrange for them to pick up my tickets (The process will be involved, but possible and legit)

Is anyone interested? I just want face value for them. They are front row upper balcony tix
if anyone is interested, my e-mail is orlaspapa@gmail.com
give me a shout, my name’s andrew

Oh, and cornelia, you CAN pick up your sisters tickets, it just looks like you need written permission and Credit Card info and order numbers etc. from your sister in law
I also was told that this was not possible (at first), but dont give up and just keep asking for customer service. after talking to 4 different people, I was able to work out a solution.
    Good luck

I think I should get paid by the hour for all the time I have spent trying to get 2 tickets for the 18th. I’m throwing in the towel and will have to settle for listening to the music at home with my eyes closed!!!!

Man O Man! I have been trying to get tickets for the 17th and no luck! I want to take my dad for his 70th birthday/Father’s Day present- talk about the coolest present ever! Tickets are now going for over $1,000 a pop- so it is not going to happen- $1,000 is a lot of rent. Although hearing Tom singing rusty trombone prose in the world’s most exotic ashcan of a voice (thats a compliment- I promise) would be worth the doughboys- we just cant swing it. I am hoping for more tourdates withing reach of us nearlyhomelessunderabridgeyethappy folk!
To all those lucky souls who are going…HAVE FUN!

hi Andrew, the problem is… we bought them over the internet so our tickets will be mailed to us from ticketmaster, with the wrong names printed on them.. and we are told that we can’t change the name on the tickets (my sister-in-law called as well) – and the only answer is: No, not possible! we even offered to bring the mastercard with us and copy of her ID. (my husband and my sister in law, even have the same surname… but no)

So we can take our chances, risking even more money, and go to Edinburgh only to experience not being let in the playhouse!

a sad, sad story it is….

    cornelia

I have now talked to 7 different people at ticketmaster, and have been told of 7 different policies.
It does look like you are right, and that they will not transfer the name on any tickets. -bummer
BUT, I had my Credit Card refunded just now-something that 5 people told me was NOT an option, so once again, it goes to show that it all comes down to who you are talking to, NOT general policy
I also just had someone at ticketmaster actually suggest, to just bring the credit card used for the order, and a matching ID, (even if it’s not yours!, would your sisterinlaw lend you her card and some ID for the night?) they said that 99 times out of 100 the door ushers don’t look at the picture on the ID, just the name.
They then said that incase someone really does look at the picture ID, to have a letter from the actual card holder explaining the situation, then it’s up to the door usher, (who usually doesn’t care) instead of some prick on the phone.

    some tickets available for dublin

  • 18 Jenn // Jun 16, 2008 at 4:24 am

So glad they did this (release more tix). Heard about it too late, and heard it was sold out. Stumbled onto the ticket site just for the heck of it, with no hope of finding a ticket. and hit search. We wound up with 3rd row seats in Knoxville. We were sure it was a mistake, until we read this. yes!

I have 2 tickets for Atlanta, but due to unexpected reasons, can go…. Ticketmaster have been horrific to deal with (won’t return emails) . I wanted to make the tickets available again through ticketmaster, however they won’t take them back… it sounds like it should be easy. However no -go. I am so annoyed, those tickets could go to another fan. Looks like I loose my money and seats will be empty on the night! Such a shame.
